EVENTS

The Bremen Town Musicians

Saturday, July 14, 11:00am-12:00pm

Lansing Town Hall

Enjoy the Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre's brand new adaptation of the classic Brothers’ Grimm fairytale, The Bremen Town Musicians!

The play follows four outcasts: a donkey, a dog, a cat, and a rooster who have all left their homes because they have been told they are no longer useful. Their misfortune brings them together and sets them off on a whirlwind, musical adventure. In the end, the four friends learn that their unique talents are what make them special. Through teamwork, creativity, and a little music, they can do anything!

Summer Reading Kickoff

Saturday June 16, 11:00am-1:00pm

Join us in kicking off our Summer Reading program, "Libraries Rock!" with a quintet of musicians from the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra performing the timeless tale of Peter and the Wolf. Following the performance children will have a chance to try out the instruments!

Also get registered for Summer Reading and enjoy the Friends of the Library book sale, face painting, balloons and more!

End of Summer Reading with LilySilly Puppets

Saturday August 18, 11:00am-12:00pm

LilySilly Puppet Theater will join us to wrap up another exciting year of Summer Reading with a performance of Aunt Irene's Variety Show!

Aunt Irene’s show is filled with music and fantastic variety acts. See a singing sloth, the mysterious Linked Lizard, Rosita the flamenco dancer and Wanda the Wizard. Things seem to go awry as a needy witch casts spells from her magic book. Live music by classically trained guitarist Matthew Ocone.

Following the show, Lily will turn around the stage to show kids how the magic is made and to ask questions.
